Multigrain Bread

Ok first go at baking bread in forever. Sourdough makes me allergic so multigrain for me.

  • 2 tbs yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbs honey
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups warm (34 – 40 degrees) water
  • 3 cups multigrain flour

Mix yeast, salt, honey, oil and water together and leave to foam 5-10 minutes. Add flour. Mix with a dough hook on 1 for 2 minutes. Mix on setting 2 for 8 minutes.

Leave in mixing bowl somewhere warm for an hour covered with a tea towel.

Turn dough onto a floured board and pull ends into the middle to remove gas.

Turn into an oiled loaf pan and leave to rise again for around 40 minutes or so.

Cut slits across the top of the loaf and spray with salty water.

Bake for 25 minutes. Leave in pan to cool after baking for 5 minutes. Turn out into a rack to cool completely.
